Jean-Michel Sutcliffe
Guitar and Vocals
Born from a musical family, Jean-Michel began playing piano from an early age, then the guitar and violin at the age of 7. It was on the guitar that he would excel, and within a short space of time, he was in a band with his brothers, covering music by Chuck Berry and the Beach Boys amongst others. Having been self taught, Jean-Michel developed an ear for chords and harmony, that was to prove useful in learning Eddie Van Halen and Jeff Healey riffs/licks [Jeff Healey being the most notable influence to his playing].
It was at Trinity College of Music that Jean-Michel met Jonathan, and after graduating in 2004, he pursued a career in teaching the guitar to people of all ages, and recorded extensively with his brothers as part of the band Amberglow. Having a home studio helped him to develop his voice as he recorded many covers and original music.
Jean-Michel was asked to join the BBS in summer 2007, to provide lead guitar and background vocals to the already existing 4-piece. He now spends his time performing with the BBS and the Sutcliffe Brothers as well as teaching and being a family man.
